Mimi's Breads: Sharing Love Through Baking
A home-based microbakery - and being a baker in general - was something that Emi had on her mind since childhood. With her partner's encouragement, she gained the confidence to start her own business and share that love through food.
As someone from the South, you may have heard the common phrase, “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” That is the exact concept that Emi Sehon, the owner and baker of Mimi’s Breads, applied to cooking and baking for her family. Healthy, unprocessed eating is a top priority for this family, so it made sense for Emi's next step in her baking journey to add sourdough to her repertoire.

Mimi’s Breads has been up and running for just a few months, but Emi’s sourdough journey began a year and a half ago, when she and her partner decided to make their own bread for healthier eating habits and better digestion. A home-based microbakery - and being a baker in general - was something that Emi had on her mind since childhood. With her partner's encouragement, she gained the confidence to start her own business and share that love through food.
This bakery is the first true passion project Emi has pursued. Sharing love through food is a core part of humanity, and she shows it through the care, time, and effort she puts into Mimi’s Breads. Even the bakery’s name comes from a childhood nickname her grandfather gave her. It’s just another way to carry love through her business.

I had to taste it myself, so I ordered one of my favorite creations on earth: banana bread. I’m pretty plain & picky when it comes to banana bread, so I opted out of adding any nuts or chocolate chips. Banana bread always seems too sweet or not sweet enough when you don’t bake it yourself, so I was thrilled when, on the first bite, it was absolutely perfect! The sweetness was just right, and every slice was perfectly moist and crumbly. I cannot speak highly enough of this bread, and the half loaf didn’t even last five full days in my house. I definitely felt all of the love in each bite!
